Print Work and Booklet Design
The fair book contained all the essential information such as the fair's regulations, schedule, maps, paid advertisements, and entertainment listings. The advertisements varied from small companies that allowed me to design their ads to fit their purchased space, to large telecom and fiber companies whose graphics departments I had to coordinate with to obtain the correct size artwork.

Over the last 25 years working as a graphic designer I have worked on many Projects for Print. Some of my more memorable Booklet Printing Projects were :

  • HKT 100 page Print Catalog and bi-weekly Printed Fliers 1999-2001
  • Hoosier Daddy Pub and Grub Biker Bar Menue 2014
  • B Sides Nashville Schedule Books Average 24-page layout 2014 -2017
  • Trifold Fliers and advertisements for Devotea. 2015-2018
  • India Garden Restaurant Menue and take out menu design 2018
  • Monroe County Fair 2023 Fair Book, a 98-page layout .

In 1999, I began my journey into layout design while working for the School Newspaper at SUNY Stone Ridge Community College. Back then, all tasks were done manually, and we had to physically cut and paste content together since personal computers were not budgeted to the club . I also accompanied reporters and photographers, taking black and white photographs on film and developing them in my spare time for the paper.Later that year, I was promoted at my retail position in Kingston, NY, and transferred to the main office in Poughkeepsie, NY, where I worked on the retail catalog and advertising at HKT. We used Microsoft Publisher and Corel Suite for this. My responsibilities included photographing all catalog items, editing the images, and organizing them by SKU into a master database. Subsequently, the database was used to create two websites for retail and wholesale clients. For the next few years, my focus shifted as I pursued a degree in visual effects at the Savannah College of Art and Design.

After leaving Hollywood for the second time and relocating to Indiana in 2014, I returned to working in graphic design. Over the next four years, I was responsible for creating the schedule books for B Sides Nashville. Although challenging, these projects were also enjoyable. Designing the B Sides Nashville Schedules taught me a great deal about managing larger projects with many components. It involved keeping numerous individuals on track and politely nudging clients to provide the necessary headshots and advertising copy in order to meet publication deadlines. Despite the annual task feeling like herding cats, I excelled at setting deadlines, allowing enough buffer time for any delays to ensure that we could finalize everything and send it to print. In addition to honing my time management skills, I also utilized my expertise in photography. I made the five-hour drive to Nashville to capture on-site images of local attractions for the 2017 book layout, which I then edited in Photoshop. I also used Adobe Illustrator to create advertisements for companies that lacked in-house designers and managed the layouts using InDesign.

After gaining valuable experience at B Sides Nashville, I felt confident when I approached the Monroe Country Fair to offer my services in designing and printing their fair book for the year 2023. In 2022, I successfully managed the design of their bench and billboard advertisements, which served as a fundraiser for the fair. The smooth execution of these tasks impressed the fair organizers enough to entrust me with the bench and billboard designs for 2023 and the assembly of the 100-page fair book. In addition to managing the timeline for 15 four-foot by eight-foot billboards, 24 picnic table signs, and 17 benches, I was responsible for ensuring that all the necessary advertising materials were included in the fair book while organizing its layout.
